Welcome to Westpost

I’m happy to announce that, after some significant trial and error, books 1 and 2 of The Chronicles of Westpost are now live! The ebook version is available now, with the paperback edition set to arrive before the end of the month.

If you’re here without knowing about them, The Chronicles of Westpost is a series of fantasy books I co-authored with my late father, and have been working to self-publish for the last six months or so. Syren’s Call

Surrounded by the enchanted and treacherous forest of Stormwood, a young woman named Syren struggles to survive within the fledgling, frontier settlement of Westpost. Longing to find the greater purpose of her life, she strives to carry on the work of her father, and to solve the mystery of his disappearance. One of the town’s original settlers, he was lost while on patrol against the savage creatures which hold the town and townsfolk in their menacing embrace.

Opposed by the Palace and assisted by two odd, but endearing strangers who aren’t quite human, a one-legged bard, and an old man of means, Syren quickly becomes swept into conflict, doing battle in a world of magic, monsters, and alchemy, yet somehow every victory stacks the odds higher against her. Can Syren foil the plans of the arrogant Baron, gain closure over her past, and strike a blow against the brutal savages who rule the forest, or will the oppressive evil of Stormwood consume everyone, as it has done so many times before?

Stormwood’s Fury

Buried deep within the enchanted and ominous forest of Stormwood, the frontier village of Westpost tends its hopeful vigil, a lone candle of civilization standing against the dark and rampant evil that envelops it like a shroud. Amid the conflict, Syren and her valiant friends struggle to secure and maintain a ring of safety between the outer wall that protects the villagers, and the cruel wilderness savages that would destroy them.

But Stormwood will not be pacified.

The hard-fought and tenuous balance is disrupted when the forest erupts in an explosion of malice. A pair of tattered refugees stagger into town, followed by a mysterious stranger. Pressed by the seething hordes from outside the wall and threatened by an unspeakable horror that lurks from within, town and townsfolk find themselves again engaged in a desperate battle for survival. Can Syren overcome the panic that surrounds her, rally her company, and defeat the relentless foes that oppose them, or will the relentless evil of Stormwood sweep them aside and devour everything she holds dear?
